Serious question now
by: pnmJust found out that we won’t get to have in person preference. How can I really know what I think about the house when I’ve only spoken to a few girls? What if I accept a bid then don’t like it? Can I not accept a bid? I’m so confused and stressed.

I really encourage you to give whatever house offers you a bid a chance. Often you have a little while in the chapter before you have to pay dues, so if you really don’t like it by the end of that, then you can definitely drop. You can always try again next year or participate in COB. Just a reminder, if you’re initiated into a sorority, you cannot drop and join a different sorority later.
I know this is such a difficult and confusing time, just know this decision wasn’t made easily. I know it’s hard to commit to a place you probably feel like a bit of a stranger, but I think it really is worth it to at least give it a shot. Good luck, thinking about all PNMs right now.

If it Pref would have been in person, we would have had masks on and been distanced. It would not feel the same as other years at all. Think how hard it would have been so hard to read anyone's emotions or even know what other PNMs were in the room with you. I think this is a blessing in disguise

This is so hard- what you mentioned about zooms being staged is a fair comment- although I doubt anyone is putting on a production. Everyone is doing their best with this situation. Wishing all of you the best. Hoping you feel a connection.
