Top house cuts explained
by: Greek girlYes top houses cut over a thousand but the truth is they could have cut way more if they wanted because the number of bids they give out are less than 100 and most of those already have names on them. Top houses often know who other houses are going for and move along to look at different girls since there are so many amazing women to choose from. They will have around 200 for pref and will spend the rest of this week ranking those girls 1 to 200. If your number 176 on kappas list you will not get a bid from them. More girls will be cut from top houses as the week goes on so please give your all to every house you have left. Keep in mind it’s often just luck a girl is in a top house because they have connections there and often girls with way better resumes, looks, ect... end up in lower houses. Some pnms reached out and made connections this summer and some girls will get very lucky and make a strong connection with whoever they get paired with during recruitment but it doesn’t mean girls that end up in top houses come bid day are better than any other pnm going through recruitment. Great girls in top, mid and lower ranked ( which means newer) houses here at uark!

After yesterday I feel better about recruitment here at uark. All top houses but one cut me but the ones I have left were girls just as pretty, outgoing and sweet as the girls that cut me. Was super surprised in a couple of top houses especially pi phi. It sucks to get cut by any house but I am not near as upset as I thought I would be now that I have met girls from all the houses.

Confused if your throwing shade at pi phi?? Seems like it. They may not be the flashiest of the top houses but they have quality girls that are smart and genuine. They more importance on academics versus frat parties and don’t go after pnm’s just because they have thousands of followers on ig.

It’s hard to tell if she is being negative about pi phi or not? But even if she is, she’s calling out one sorority so I’m guessing that sorority cut her so of course she’s negative towards them.

This is a perfect example of how all houses are great at UARK. You are beautiful and have an amazing resume,recs,etc. - you believe you should be in a top house but you only have mid to lower houses left. There are a 1200+ other girls just like you that got cut from “top” houses.
There are great girls in every sorority. It is truly just a numbers games. All sororities are so similar. They all do the same types of activities. They all have beautiful houses. They all have pretty girls and average looking girls. All have sweet girls and mean girls. Out of ~125 girls in your mc you find your tribe of 8-12 that you stick with and that evolves, grows, changes as new people come and go. Have a positive attitude, be happy where you land, and use your leadership skills to make it the best sorority on campus!

You are doing this right! Take your 5 minutes to be stung when you notice a few houses aren’t on your party list; it is OK to be a little hurt. And then.......look at each house, each party with fresh eyes & an open heart. Your girls are waiting for you!
