Why are we doing recruitment?
by: Chunk bassI am currently in a top tier house which I love, and I wish with all my heart that rush could be normal... but personally I don’t understand why we are doing recruitment still. Behind the scenes EVERYTHING IS SO MESSY. I have a really bad feeling about how this is going to turn out because they have changed so many variables and nobody every knows what is going on. Why don’t we just wait till the spring?

It’s about money. That really is the truth. At uark these sorority houses are huge and don’t pay for themselves. There are salaries that need to be paid higher up in the organization as well. I feel very bad for pnm’s this year. They are sort of stuck. Go through and have an extremely sub par experience or wait to go through as a sophomore with all the incoming freshman and hope you have a chance. Both not good options :(

They are here. They’ve moved into the dorms. They want the best freshman experience they can have. It won’t be the same. It is what it is. And quite frankly it sucks. No functions. No gamedays. I don’t know how it’s going to turn out. But we have to just go with it and hope for the best and by next year we can all get back to normal

I actually think it is going to be a great way for freshman girls to make friends in the fall. There are very few in person classes so one of the best ways to really meet new people is through Greek Life. The activities will be smaller groups and you will have the opportunity to form a close sisterhood and get to know people that you otherwise would never met. I think mc 20 will be a close knit group that forms lifelong friendships. Yes it’s sad that they are going to miss out on some things but let’s face Rush is the most stressful experience. At least they don’t have to walk all across campus in the heat!

this is the exact same reason we’re being asked to attempt to go to in person classes. They say they want us to experience college but in reality they want to charge us as close to normal tuition as possible
