Why isn’t theta chi ifc
by: HeyI saw the rankings say that still aren’t part of ifc here. Are they just not trying to be in ifc? Will ifc not a sort them? What’s going on? They seemed pretty normal to me

When Greek life wants to add a new chapter they reach out to all chapters to invite them to found a chapter here. The person who founded Arkansas’s chapter went around Greek life and established even when Greek life told them they didn’t want them so now they won’t allow them to be part of IFC

I agree they’re a nice group of guys but if they wanted to be IFC they should’ve followed the rules. Theta Chi just assumes they can bypass the rules which obviously didn’t work

There is this thing called Freedom of Association. I find nothing shady about a group of guys gathering together to form a fraternity organically. All fraternities started out this way in the beginning. It's one thing for national reps to colonize without going through proper channels but for a group to form on their own and then charter with 50+ men in under a year and after 3 years still not admit them into IFC, that's plain petty.

yes, you have the freedom to associate. IFC doesn't have to permit that though! whether it's petty or not, it's also their freedom to not allow a group that didn't go through their proper channels at UARK to colonize. the chartering members made their bed, now y'all have to lie in it. not saying it's right or wrong, but that's the other perspective to the situation

But they are one of the best group of men on campus. The person who founded Arkansas' chapter also happens to be the former ASG President. Yes, the way they went about chartering was shady, but I think through grades, community outreach, and overall respectful behavior they deserve a spot in IFC; they're leaps and bounds ahead of the fraternity norm here at UARK.
