Dating and Greek Life

How does dating work in sororities? Do most pnms just keep their hs boyfriends?

I've heard nobody actually dates; it's just parties where you hang out and hook up. There are formals but those are like prom where it's really a photo-op. Not sure though.

It's like high school without parents. Pretty much just hang out/hook up like you said with a few formals or whatever.

Serious relationships happen but those are mostly girls with guys they meet outside GL. I don't know too many girls with frat boy boyfriends, not the serious kind anyway.

Very rarely do couples make the transition from high school to college. You may find a few but for the most part you will find that freshman and sophomore year are more about just having fun with lots of guy friends and some hook ups.

It really depends on what you’re wanting and where you’re looking. I know of girls who have boyfriends from hs (seems really hard if it’s long distance), boyfriends in frats, and girls that just wanna have fun and hang out with guys. I will say that freshman year most people don’t want to be in a relationship and it’s just about having fun and meeting new people. It’s different as you get older though.

I don’t see a lot of girls with serious boyfriends in frats. It seems like it would be difficult to date a frat boy especially if they’re a pledge. I know a lot of girls do have boyfriends though. Also this post makes it seem like everyone is running around hooking up with everyone but I don’t know many people who have random hookups all the time. If you’re not into that no one is going to judge you

HS boyfriends rarely make it — esp if long distance. Have fun your freshman and sophomore year!

As a sophomore I can confirm it is very hard to actually get “dates” at uark. Hook ups yes. Dates no:(
