PNM confused on social media

by: John Doe

Hi! I am a PNM and am super excited to meet all the beautiful women at Arkansas! However I don’t quite know the proper edict with Greek life on social media. Meaning, am I allowed to DM members of the sororities, and if so, should it be anyone in the sorority or just recruitment chair members. Secondly, is it polite to DM members or does it come off in a negative way. Thank you so much!

This year is different, so yes you can dm active members this year! The recruitment team is super busy rn with all the big changes, so if you message them you might not get something back right away!! But if you messaged actives yourself, I think it would be so awesome. It won’t come off as negative, unless you’re like “ I don’t wanna be in your sorority”😂 if you do that then oof. But no it would be so amazing, it still makes me a lil nervous to reach out... so if the reach out was mutual that would be GOLDEN.

Thanks so much! One more question if you don’t mind answering, should I DM an active member even if they are not following me. Do you think that comes off as me bothering them?

John Doe, I know if a pnm messaged me and I wasn’t following them, I would follow you right back! At least for my sorority, we are not give a list of all the PNM’s so we kinda have to find you! So it’s really helpful to have uark 24’ in your bio just so we know. But to answer your question, no you would not be bothersome!
