Actives be Honest because PNM’s are getting upset
by: PNMMyself as well as a few other pnms I spoke to were very off put by a sorority asking actives to tag pnms in a post. Myself as well as a few other girls rushing were under the impression that you may follow actives or sororitys but to keep themselves in the clear of dirty rushing they may not follow back until the conclusion of bid day. We are preached at to keep a open mind trust the process but seems to me the process has already started. Honestly made a few pnm’s second guess rushing at all that don’t have inside connections to the houses. Seems like a waste of time to go through the process when it’s over before it starts.

Due to the pandemic, summer contact rules were lifted so members are encouraged to reach out to PNMs to encourage them to rush and make some friends in houses so they can keep an open mind for the chapters who aren’t as favored. It’s not dirty rushing, just trying to help PNMs not drop after being cut from the top 5.

This year is no different than the past years. Top houses have to cut well over 500 girls the first round therefore those cuts are made before recruitment begins. Impossible to go over that many pnm’s when day one is done around midnight. If anything, this is a great year for pnm’s with no contacts. Guess what?? You get to CONTACT members of the sororities your interested in and get your name out there. That hasn’t happened before. As far as tagging girls in post it really isn’t a big deal. Girls with friends in houses will ofcourse have a greater chance than someone no one has ever heard of. So go reach out and make those contacts pnm’s! Good luck!

There isn’t a thousand girls that are grade risk. Maybe 3 to 4 hundred max if there are around 1500 pnm’s. But yes truth be told top houses do have to cut close to a thousand first round ( if 1500 or more pnm’s) to give those girls more time to check out the other houses. This also gives the top houses a more realistic number of girls to look at, as well as give the other houses a chance to look at girls that could potentially become a
member. The system really sucks and seems to only keep the top houses top. When everyone around you gets cut by kappa and you have them on your schedule you automatically think wow aren’t I special and prob favor them over houses you may have actually connected with better. This is why top houses never get cut by pnm’s until pref.

Were sorry for the switch up, and i understand it might seem frustrating, but its a new rule to all of us so please do not feel discouraged to contact any girl from any sorority you are interested in!
