What should PNM's be doing now?
by: PNMWith the announcement of rush being so different this year, what kind of things should PNM's be doing to get themselves out there and get noticed?? Should we be DMing girls or reaching out? I am scared because going virtual seems like the sorority will be choosing us and we will have much less of an opportunity to choose them... What should we do to even this balance or should I even be worried?

Yes I think you should dm girls to get your name out there. I think this will be a good recruitment for the more introverted girls. Trust me when I say going to 11 houses in one day was very stressful. We had to worry about matching weird colored shirts, our shoes Ect... Not to mention HOT and exhausting as the days were easily over 12 hours long. I would have LOVED recruitment this year. I am sure more outgoing, confident girls may feel differently. Watch the orientation videos then network and try and find out as much about the sororities as possible. This is not the time to be silent. Follow as many girls as you can and make sure your social media is clean. I would also make your Instagram public if it isn’t already.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the sororities have always chosen their new members with not as much influence by the PNM’s. I would guess that 75% of the mutual selection process favors the chapters. With the first couple rounds being virtual, it will definitely seem like the chapters have more input, but it really isn’t any more than in the past.
With the summer contact rules being thrown out the window this year, you actually might have more of a chance of getting on their radar than in a traditional recruitment. Make sure your social media is cleaned up and public, follow ALL of the houses on Instagram, research their values & philanthropies & reach out or DM the ones that seem like they line up with your values.

This is very true. When you make cuts, be aware that this is only to make you feel in control but in actuality it is based entirely on whether a chapter wants you to come back or not. If they don’t want you, you won’t be there, no matter how much you want to go back.
