Kappa, zeta stereotypes
by: PnmI have connections in both (not super strong like a cousin or anything but do know some girls) and was wondering if the kappas are well liked on campus? The couple of girls I know are not very inclusive. Are the Zeta’s overall wild? I feel like it may be difficult to get a read on the houses with virtual recruitment:(.

Hey girl. I think if the kappas you know would be described as not inclusive that means that you don’t feel included by them so don’t expect a bid:( As far as well liked on campus, I think they are respected but do give off a vibe that is a bit conceited. Zetas are well liked and yes do have some wild ones. Zetas seem to be everywhere and in general seem happy and fun. I wouldn’t stress about either. I think most girls would happily take a bid from both houses. That being said there are plenty of good sororities here so keep your options open!

Kappas are well liked on campus, but are very clique. Most of these girls knew each other before college, so if you dont go to kanikuk camps or are from little rock, you may have trouble making friends. There are some wild zetas but they just seem to be outgoing and are always seen. There are wild girls in all sororities, these girls just arent afraid to show it and be themselves, i guess? Zeta is very liked by all of campus because they have friends in every sorority regardless of the “rank”. I would be happy to be in either sorority, but if these kappa girls dont seem to be trying too hard to rush you, you may need to start putting your eggs in a different basket. Good luck during recruitment, and remember that the stereotype does not define the sorority, every sorority here is AMAZING!!!

I see kappas and zetas together often on social media so they have to be somewhat similar. I do think if your not in a top tier sorority you have a better chance of having a zeta as a friend than a kappa. In a word Kappas are classy and Zetas are outgoing. Can’t go wrong with either if given a choice.

I think these two sororities are very similar. The one difference is that kappa has more girls from arkansas and zeta has more girls from texas or kansas. Both have wild sides, both are nice to everyone! Girls that go kappa usually have zeta on pref, and girls that go zeta have kappa on pref. Zeta seems to interact much more with other sororities than kappa does, and kappa focuses a lot of bible camps.

Accurate! You would probably get a vibe off a the kappas you know if they were trying to recruit you. Curious about the zeta (or zetas) you know? Don’t be scared to reach out to girls from your hometown in sororities! Yes it’s different this year but all can still give good advice for moving off to college :)
