True. Less girls that go through just gives all houses less bids to give out. Your given a quota and that’s only fair. Otherwise kappa, zeta Ect....could potentially have many more pnm’s than other houses. Ofcourse a house doesn’t have to take quota. Some houses try and take a few less than quota for no other reason than to seem more prestigious as there are plenty of awesome recruits to choose from. Sororities are a business and doing this only makes the other members have to pay more. I think online recruitment hurts a lot of houses more than it does pnm’s. There were a couple of houses during recruitment not on my radar but I loved once actually in the house. Top houses most likely will have their list and that’s who will get bids. Online recruitment will now be chosen heavily ( with a little imput by members) by the recruitment committees of each house.

This will hurt those so-called middle or lower houses the most because when PNMs visit these chapters 1st or 2nd round in a traditional recruitment, they can see with their own eyes that tiers at Arkansas are not existent in real life.

Tiers only exist here on GR, but this will be harder to disprove via videos or Zoom. I am afraid that when the houses release PNMs 1st or 2nd round this year, they will be more apt to drop out of recruitment altogether.

The quota is more so the top houses can’t take like 60 girls, meaning way more girls would end up cut and without a house. But the more established the chapter, the smaller the PC they get to take...the quota for each chapter isn’t out of the total number of girls going through, but how many are already in the house. The “top” houses could have as many as 50 less girls than other houses. The quota does help by making sure every girl who is still in the process by pref will get a house.

For many years UArk Panhellenic used variable quota which dictated that established chapters take the smallest PC's and the newer chapters take a larger PC.

Last year for PC19, they went back to a more traditional quota where all the girls participating in pref were divided equally. There was less than a 15 person difference between the chapters unlike PC18 that had a spread from 100-165 new members.

Total is the number you are referring to which will allow some chapters after formal recruitment ends to bring in more new members based on their chapter size.

I agree with this. There might be more cuts by the chapters between 3rd round & prefs than usual after they actually get to meet the girls. Could be some big surprises for the PNMs when they get their pref invites.
