Anyone have recruitment questions?

by:

Hi ladies,

Gosh I cannot believe this site is still up and running 😹. My pledge class was in 2008 so I know so much has changed but I’ve stayed involved as an alum.
If you have any questions about recruitment, houses, anything I will answer.
Trust the process it works even if you end up with the house you didn’t want. Give it a chance do not drop out of recruitment or not accept a bid. It all
Works our how it should.

I have a couple questions.

1. How much do recs actually help? Are they important or just a check in a box?

2. Are you judged a lot based on your appearance? I’m worried I’ll be cut for this reason.

3. How much do grades help you? I’m talking 3.9 and above and 1450+ SAT

Recs do help, if you don’t have one for every house it’s not the end of the world.

Personally we didn’t cut girls for how they looked, I don’t think many houses do. Just be confident and be yourself and you will be fine I promise!

Grades are important that’s what cuts the first round are usually about. Having great grades and test scores do give you an advantage. But even if you don’t have an amazing gpa you can still get a bid it just depends on the house and their requirements.

Not the original poster but I am an active member

1. Most of the time recs are just a box to check off, but a really great and personal letter can help get you noticed more by the recruitment team, especially alumna from arkansas

2. Short answer, yes, everyone judges based off appearance but that doesn’t mean they will cut you. Sometimes it is the easiest factor but with a good resume and conversations you will be fine!

3. Again just another check but it is definitely helpful. You can be cut for Having too low but you’re definitely fine

Hi!
Most of the time a rec is just a box to check. Will be cut from top houses without one.
I think some sororities are known for putting more emphasis on looks than others. Tbh
Grades are just a box to be checked as well for the most part.
Good luck!
