Zeta vs pi phi rank
by: ArkIm a pnm and keep seeing zeta above pi phi but the comments saying they could be equal. Could someone give me a good description of each one and which one u think is above the other?

No, honestly they are pretty equal just very different. Zeta is more your stereotypical sorority girl. The image you may have from watching movies. They have more than their fair share of bubbly blonds. Unlike Phi Mu though that has a mean girl reputation, Zetas are well liked on campus. Zetas are very proud of being Zetas and have a good sisterhood. The whole “ zista” thing can be a bit annoying though. Pi Phi’s are very respected at Uark. Pi Beta Phi is super strong nationally. The women they choose are smart with strong leadership qualities. These are girls are also sweet and have somewhat of a granola/hippie type vibe. They are not as seen on campus as Zetas ( who never miss a party) but most likely because they are being more productive with their time and actually staying back and studying for their exams on Friday! If you are lucky enough to have a choice between the two than you will just need to see who you connect with the most during recruitment!

ADPI super accurate descriptions of both sororities! Pi Phi has rested on their strong national reputation for years keeping them a top sorority. They always rank top in grades but besides that they don’t do much, as they are not that into their reading philanthropy and aren’t partiers. They may need to go outside the box a little this recruitment!

Both great sororities with sweet girls. I have friends in both. I would say they are pretty equal but Zeta may be pulling ahead of them in ranks just based on how involved they are with all things greeks. They love their philanthropy and it shows. The biggest difference I would say is Zeta has a party girl rep (along with a few rep risk this past pledge class) and Pi Phi for sure has a smart girl rep ( which interesting enough goes with their reading philanthropy). I think most girls would be happy in either sorority.

Oooo good question. Usually pi phi is above zeta but this year they werent seen on campus at all. Pi phi is filled w super chill/hippie/granola/smartie girl types and all the girls are sweet. It is a known sorority on campus although i know many people who havent met ANY pi phis. Zeta had a better pledge class this year, making them ~slightly~ higher on the ranks than pi phi. Zeta is filled w blondes who are all laid back and fun. Unlike pi phi, everyone knows multiple zeta friends (at least i do). These girls have fun nose piercing and dye their hair and go to lots of parties. Although their pledge class was good, they also brought down their gpa. If you are looking for “fly high” hippie smarties, then choose pi phi. If you are looking for “blonde barbie” laid back party girls, then go for zeta. In most opinions, they are equal but take very different girls so it is hard to rank them. Love both!!!!

This is super accurate. I know lots of zetas but don’t know any with nose rings?? Ha ha for sure these are the party girls though. I liked Pi phi during recruitment but really thought their house was super far away from campus and very sterile inside. If given a choice of those two ( love my house!) I would choose Zeta, especially if I wanted to live in the house sophomore year. That being said,any pnm would be lucky to have either of those as an option at the end.

This is so true! Lots of girls from Kansas and Texas in both Kappa and Zeta. Huge amounts of Arkansas girls in both chi o and pi phi!

Kappa
Zeta
Pi phi
Chi o
Tri Delt.
I really think that’s how it will end up this fall as well.

All the arkansas girls I know from Pi Phi are really quirky and strange. I don’t know how they are a top house

Many fayetteville girls want Zeta for sure. There are quite a few girls I know from Uark in Zeta, but yes they have a lot of texas girls

Not sure about that anymore. I am from Arkansas and there is a lot of my friends ( including me) looking at Zeta

Are they higher? I think equal. I guess it depends on who you ask. They tend to never miss a Thursday night at the frats so they have a lot of guy friends and fraternity boys may prefer Zeta.

I think zeta moved higher because they seem to have a more well-known pledge class. Pi phis class is all super nice and smart, but doesnt seem to know anyone besides other pi phis (maybe kappa or zeta). Zetas are friends with girls in all sororities on campus and do a lot more for their philanthropy. In my opinion, everyone has a zeta friend. Both sororities are filled with great girls, but one seems to be more outgoing than the other :/

Hi! I am a Kappa and would go Zeta in a heartbeat if I didn’t get a bid from Kappa. I LOVE my sorority and am super thankful to be a Kappa but have several Zeta friends and they are just as happy being Zetas:) To be honest I barely know any Pi Phi’s. Will give them creds for always being top in grades though!

Well I am a Kappa and think I could have been happy in zeta or pi phi. Just wouldn’t have been happy in chi o! Way too cliquey! I know a couple of girls very unhappy in there:(

Also! The top houses (including pi phi and zeta) usually have stellar grades & whoever is #1 in grades changes. Up until Spring 2018 it was always kappa as #1, then it was KD, then pi phi for two semesters and now tri delt. Pi phi is super smart! But they haven’t always been #1. The grades are on the Panhellenic website!

I feel like both are amazing sororities. Pi phi is more granola and has a pot rep. High grades and high girls. All sweet but never seen/lots of ppl dont even know pi phis. Zeta is more of the sorority girl rep. Has a few arrests but every sorority does. Can be a little crazy but filled with nice girls that everyone knows. I would personally be very excited to be in either of these houses if i wasnt in my own. The girls are on the same rank i believe, just 2 completely different types of girls

These descriptions are very accurate BUT I believe my sorority sisters ( phi mu) have worked hard to get rid our mean girl rep and it’s depressing to see it brought up all the time.
