FREE RECRUITMENT ADVICE: don’t drop from recruitment if you get cut from all your top choices. accept a bid from maybe a “lower” house and try it out. you may end up loving it! if you hate it you can drop before initiation and there’s no big deal! try it out who knows you could be the next president and lead your sorority ahead.

THERE ARE NO BAD SORORITIES AT UARK!!!!!!!!! THIS IS ANNOYING TO SEE “omg this house is better bc they have an amazing and gorgeous group of girls” or “this sorority is so bad bc they took a bad PC” as someone who rushed in the fall yes certain houses are more desired but saying that one sorority is “bad” is like saying all 400 girls in this sorority are “bad” and that’s not true!!! every house has its mix of smart, popular, rich, athletic, party, wild girls.

this is just my opinion and what I saw during recruitment. the most DESIRED houses (not how good or bad they are) by PNMs were:
Kappa and Chi O - most desired, cut girls the hardest
Zeta, Tri Delt & Pi Phi - still great houses but not at the same level yet, again cut very hard as well
KD and Phi Mu - for a lot of girls this was a great house for being in the middle but not quite the lowest, a lot argue that Phi Mu should be lower but it’s just not true. these houses were good second options if you got cut from the big ones.
ADPi, AXO, AOII - these are pretty equal IMO, ADPi and AXO are slightly above AOII but AOII isn’t the same level of DG. I know a lot of girls who did pref AOII over ADPi AXO and even some over Phi Mu or KD. So everyone saying they’re the lowest are very wrong. Same can be said about AXO and ADPi tho! ADPi was just low bc of their house not being done IMO. AOII is the newest of these three. pretty much every girl dropped one, two or all three of these some point during recruitment.
DG - Yes DG was the least desired house during recruitment. No matter what you see on here, that was a fact. Every PNM I talked to at one point dropped DG. I don’t say that to be mean but they are just too new and haven’t built their reputation up on campus. However during the school year they’ve DEFINITELY stepped it up and are becoming a house that will be much more desired. With AGD coming on campus DG will not be the least desired. i have so many DG friends and i love them sm so no hate to them!

I also know a lot of girls who dropped rush after losing Kappa, Chi O, Tri Delt, Pi Phi, KD and Phi Mu. One girl dropped in my group bc all she had left was DG. another girl dropped bc all she had was AXO. one friend from my hometown dropped when all she had was AOII and AXO. that’s just the way it works.

AGAIN THESE ARE RANKED IN ORDER OF DESIRABILITY NOT ON HOW “GOOD OR BAD” THEY ARE. ALL THE HOUSES HAVE BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING GIRLS STOP HATING ON EACH OTHER AND SHOW SOME PAN LOVE PLZ

When were the girl’s left which just those houses? After the first round or at pref??

To answer your question.... it depends. Without connections and a gpa lower than a 3.4 (an exception being a legacy) you can expect cuts from top five the first night . A couple of girls may slide through but rarely. Then round two and three expect two to three more cuts. You can have a full schedule all week then end up with two lower houses when you get your schedule on pref night. When houses cut you, others that you cut end up back on your schedule. Girls go home during the week because they think they are “ too good” for the houses they have left which is crap. I promise you can find people exactly like you in EVERY house! Also, if your a legacy just know these days with sooo many going through ( like often up to 100 per sorority!) don’t get your hopes up. If your mom was a Tri delt 30 years and some college in the north that doesn’t mean you will fit in a Tri delt at uark!

You get out what you put in— that alone determines your Greek experience.

Absolutely agree! Don’t go to meet and greet thinking you’re too good for a house. These things are noticed and you might be eating crow by midweek. Open mind, open heart, and you’ll find your fit.

Agree with every word except ChiO has lost their reputation and respect on campus. Not optimistic they’ll still be a most desired house.

Might get hate for this... I just wanted to pipe in and say that I dropped recruitment when I was left with a house I wasn’t connecting with at all that week. I know a lot of people say, “be happy with whatever you get” but also keep in mind you’ll be paying quite a bit to be a member and will also be making a huge time commitment. If recruitment just doesn’t work for you, there is always next semester/next year. IT IS NOT NOW OR NEVER. Keep in mind that no one is “too good” for a house, be realistic with your expectations. I am not saying that if you don’t get your top pick to drop, but if you are left with something you are truly unhappy with, consider your options... I rushed again and joined the house I connected with the first time around... I know many girls who are happy with where they are, but I also know girls who are still struggling to find their place. Do not take a bid to just take a bid!

And there are girls struggling to find “their” people in every house. A lot of times it isn’t til you are on the other side where you make deeper friendships. So it can take awhile.
