recruitment again?

by:

I went through recruitment this year but dropped after bid day because I had zero connection with the one I ended up in. I don’t regret dropping, but every friend I have is in a sorority so I feel like I’m missing out. How much more difficult is recruitment as a sophomore? Could I possibly end up in the same sorority again or would they know I dropped and cut me?

The houses who are participating in COB will be starting when the semester starts. Have you asked your Greek friends if they are doing COB?

It isn’t easy going through as a sophomore unless you have friends pulling for you hard in a particular sorority. Most likely your past experience with recruitment will be brought eventually in the sororities interested but that is not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of girls don’t have connections right away wherever they end up. In fact , it can take a semester or even two to find your group of girls. Stay open and make the best of your experience!

Depends. By “zero connection” did you mean you were mad because you felt you were too good for a lower tier house? Because if so going through as a sophomore I can all but promise you won’t end up somewhere “better”. There’s a ton of girls in each sorority it’s very unlikely you can’t find a few that you like if you put in effort, so that added to your comment that you dropped after bid day suggests it was probably the “I’m too good for you” thing not an actual “lack of connection”.

No you won’t end up in the same sorority again. If you dropped them after bid day I can’t imagine why they would extend you another bid. If you have a close friend in another sorority it’s possible you will get a bid in the fall. Some sororities offer a few spring bids based on their numbers, so that could be a possibility as well if you have connections.
