A lot of girls from my school are planning on coming to Arkansas and are curious on how hard rush is and what houses they can expect. First, expect the week to be tough unless you have solid connections. This week truly sucks but stick through....
that being said here’s what you need to know:
Kappa- you have to have connections in house or be extremely wealthy and are from AR, do not expect to get this house without those three things
Pi Phi- have to have good grades, great personality and connections, also very hard to get but they take more out of state girls then some houses
Chi O- won’t get this house unless you are a legacy or have connections.
Zeta- take pretty girls with good GPA’s and personalities. Still really hard to get.
Tri Delta- must have a good GPA and maybe some connections
ADPi- don’t need as many connections but you have to have a good GPA and personality. They cut a lot of girls this year just based on GPA
KD- same as ADPI, maybe a little less harsh on cuts
Phi Mu- don’t need connections or good GPA, take mostly pretty girls
AXO- don’t need connections or good GPA, looking for nice girls they can bond with
AOPi and DG- don’t need anything really to impress them

The numbers were different. ALL houses were selective- doesn’t matter where a house was ranked. There were cuts that didn’t make any sense. There were many pnms open minded, wanting a house. The pnms were all strong individuals blessed w high gpas, many volunteer hours and honors earned. Cute, beautiful and independent-minded pnms. All houses did well with these pnms. Several wonderful girls slipped thru the crack for whatever reason. Houses missed out.

This is pretty much exactly right based on my experience and the girls around me this past year. It’s an exhausting week but with an open mind to all houses it will be worth it. If you have the attitude of having to be in one of the top five houses or nothing then you could be in for a big disappointment. There were girls invited back to top houses that didn’t make sense to me and gorgeous girls with amazing resumes cut from all top five the first night. These girls are the reason ALL houses are good at uark!

This is good info! All our houses have great girls,but it’s nice to know what to expect!

These sororities cut girls that didn’t atleast attempt to impress them as well they should.

Although it is harsh, the comment is 100% accurate. Especially for DG, seeing that they are a new chapter at the UofA, and are desperate for girls.

You are wrong about that sweet group of girls. DG has worked so hard and started strong on the campus. Not a DG but don’t like them being bashed, I think some houses don’t like how well they are doing. You are obviously in one of those houses. Now they may be having to swing thru the cycle of their colonizing class graduating- but that does not indicate desperation. THIRD year to go hold fall recruitment. Really impressive.
I’m so happy for them.

You don’t have any idea what you are talking about. And unless you’ve done recruitment from the inside of a house. You can’t even begin to speculate what or who will make a cut. Oh and there are lots of high quality, pretty and out of state girls in ALL the houses. So you can get off your Arkansas Mule

Don’t scare pnm’s. Yes all houses cut but if your respectful and open to all houses most likely you will get a bid. After that,your experience will be what you make of it!

Girls received no bids is a fact. There were plenty however that chose to drop when they were cut from the houses they were interested in.

Every year great girls don’t get noticed but that is what makes uark unique! It’s hard to tell just by looks ( like some other universities) what sorority someone is in unless they are wearing their letters!
