feeling out of place in my sorority??
by: wtfi joined a sorority hoping to make a lot of friends and good memories. however i feel so out of place and i dont have any friends. i literally dread going to any sorority events bc i know ill just be standing there alone. I've tried to put myself out there but i am pretty shy and the girls I've met seem to already have their friend groups and dont really care about including anyone else. i just dont know what to do bc obviously it's really expensive and i feel like it isn't worth paying for if i am miserable.

Ugh sorry you feel that way. If you can try and stick out for this year. During recruitment a lot of bonding happens as y’all work towards getting your new girls. Meanwhile just try an attend as many extra things you can such as working on homecoming float. It only takes that one girl that you may click with to open some doors for you. Hope it gets better for you soon!

It is very normal to feel this way. Keep your non Greek friends and other house friends. Your friend group can shift a few times and that is ok too. There are others in your house feeling the same way. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself- and as the semester gets close to the end- little things feel bigger than they really are. Hope you stick w it.

At a certain point, like your situation, being in a sorority really doesn't seem worth it! It's boggles me how some of my sisters stay and pay thousands of dollars only to never have the time to participate in anything that makes them feel involved.
