rude potential new member
by: AnnoyedAnother PNM was sitting next to me during round 1. She was being openly rude to the sorority sister. Literally rolling her eyes and asking how much longer she had to be in the house. Later heard her bragging that she ensured that she wouldn’t get ask back to that house. I know our gamma chi heard her say this and should have reported her, if not the sister she was rude to. However, this girl ended up in a “top” house. I thought PNM’s that acted like that were supposed to be released from recruitment. What gives?

Sadly, this happens every year. And every year nothing is done to those girls, even if they are reported. I was a gamma chi last year and reported a pnm in my group to Greek Life because what she did was so incredibly rude. And she still ended up with her top choice. The staff in Greek Life office at Arkansas seem to be biased towards those older, more established sororities so it’s no wonder that the new colonies struggle so much.

If a pnm is that rude to the active, can the active let the pnm go sit somewhere for the duration of the round? Or kindly escort the pnm to the gamma chis outside? That is so rude of a pnm. She can’t be nice for 15 minutes? No one should have to tolerate that kind of behavior. Set up a system for those hateful girls. That is just awful.

I also sat next to a girl who didn’t even want to go In a so called “ bottom house” and sat there completely uninterested. She repeatedly kept saying while waiting in line I am going to be a ......, I have so many friends in there. Well thankfully she didn’t get that sorority ( which turned out to be the one I pledged ) and ended up in a much lower house that has a mean girl reputation. I know our gamma chi heard how she was acting and always wondered if she may have had something to do with her getting cut. I hope so!

Not surprising. “These” are the kind of entitled jerks the so called top houses want. They are mean, selfish, self centered and this behavior is rewarded. Greek life rewards it, these “Rank”groups reward it by constantly promoting who is “top”( based on nothing but looks and money). There are No consequences for these girls except to get everything they want in Greek life! Ha
Girls that act like that should be asked to leave the whole process, not given exactly what they want. But money talks.
You all Keep up the rankings, it perpetuates this. A narcissist loves to see they are “top”.
Of course, any smart person knows who does the rankings are the “tops” to keep promoting themselves.

You sound rude and shallow yourself to stereotype a top house as just looks and money. Top houses would not stay top ranked based on those two criteria alone. Top house girls have top grades, lots and lots of leadership activities, and great social skills. All houses have great things to offer and no top house is going to take you solely based on your looks and money. Not when - lets be honest- they can get almost whoever they want. On a personal note - you cut them during recruitment because of this shallow stereotype of yours? Oh- that’s right - they cut you.

Some of the precious tops have NO manners going thru recruitment. That is what this post is about. No one should feel entitled to treat another person so rudely. Selfish. Mean. No letters justify behavior. That’s the tea.

I care because I have a heart and felt sorry for the sister that had to try and talk to her. I was cut by this particular house by the way. Am very happy where I ended up though, especially since it appears like that sorority is filled with girls that are like this one girl I’m talking about.
