from 3200 girls to 2500 girls
by: go hogsSomeone posted that there were 2500 girls total in the freshmen class this year. Last year there were 3200 girls and close to that number every year for the last several years. 700 is a big number to lose in one year. Why are girls not wanting to come to Arkansas? That is just sad.

Recruitment numbers were down by around 300 this year. So does the drop in enrollment have anything to do with recruitment?

HS grad class of 18 was a big class -due to 2000 - all the millenium babies. All thru school that years class was bigger than the years before and after them. The enrollment number being down is probably more a reflection of the freshman class in general being larger last year everywhere than anything.

This freshmen class of girls is the first one to drop below 3000 in 7 years. 700 or 500 is still a lot of girls. Some of the attitudes on here unfortunately are how a lot of girls act.

The freshmen class of 2017 was bigger than the freshmen class of 2018 and there were 100,000 less births in US in 1999. The difference in births in US between 2000 and 2001 was 35,000. So how does your theory work exactly?

At Bid day they announced that 93% of PNMS were given bids. That 1349 bids were given out in total. 1349 is 93% of 1450. So out of the 1450 girls who participated in recruitment 1349 received bids. When recruitment started it was stated that 60% of incoming freshmen were participating in recruitment. Total number of girls participating 1450 which is 60% of 2417. The difference between 3130 and 2417 is 713. The number of incoming freshmen is over 5000 for 2019 but exact total has not been released. Last year the total was projected to be slightly lower but still close to numbers from 2018. If the number comes in at 5000 almost the entire difference between 2018 and 2019 is female students. If scholarship money is factor in this drop that would mean it basically affected female students only. Now all these figures are based on the accuracy of information announced at bid day and prior to bid day. If the inncorrect information was given as far as total number of PNMS or the percentage given for participating freshmen then the figures can change. I would think any information Greek Life releases has little to almost none inaccuracies.

This number is off. 1717 went thru recruitment. It was more than 1500 who received bids.
