drop out / no bid
by: pnmhow many girls actually drop out during rush? Or worse yet not receive a bid at all. I know someone who was oos at another school and did not get bid by any house. How often does that happen? honestly reading things on here make me anxious!

so many people have said this already on here just read around.
but it's very rare for someone to not receive a bid from any house unless there's something seriously wrong with you. like horrible grades, appearance, conversation, etc. the system is set up to maximize the amount of bids so that it is even and fair to everyone.
as for girls dropping out, i know a lot of girls that did when i rushed. out of 1700 i'd say probably 200 of them drop or don't receive bids.
girls drop when they're set on a house before recruitment and end up getting cut from that houses and houses in the same tier. they blame it on saying they wouldn't "fit in" that house, when really, they believe they're too good for that house and it would be embarrassing to post a bid day picture and for everyone to know that's what they were left with.
happens all the time. sad but true. however, there are girls who end up in similar situations and take a bid to a house they were iffy about, then they end up thriving there and meeting their people. that's why it's best to not drop. at least give it a chance.
it's all about a positive attitude! we can tell if you like our house or not

This year all are in houses. That will help. Some girls were not happy with a bid from a sorority without a house. They thought they were better then the girls that invited them to join their sisterhood. We will see how this year plays out.
We have great groups you can not go wrong with anyone of them just go in with an open mind.

It’s way more common for PNM’s (who think quite highly of themselves) to drop out because they didn’t get invited back to top tier chapters and then either lie and say they were dropped or they didn’t feel a “connection” with the houses they had left.
Getting totally dropped from rush is pretty rare - as pp’s said you have to have horrible grades or a bad reputation to get totally dropped early week.
If you make it to Pref and don’t suicide, you are guaranteed a bid to one of your pref houses.
