bid day wristbands

by:

I know some girls in sororities currently and they have mentioned sororities in the past had wristbands to get into the house on bid day. Is this true for every house? Are our parents allowed in? Just trying to figure out how to plan for this

I can’t speak for every house but yes, wristbands are a thing. In my house we have bands for the new members and a couple of their guests. These are just to control how many people are entering the house, but anyone is allowed on the lawn, which is where the main celebrations are.

Our house does not do this and will not do this. Anyone is welcome on our lawn or in the house.

Its more about fire codes than any kind of exclusionary thing. Every house is different because they each are different sizes, layouts etc. Your family will probably only want to be around for a couple hours at most anyway. This is YOUR time with your new sisters!!!

IF you join a house that requires a wrist band (and yes it is a thing) you and your bid day guests will receive a wrist band to enter the house. Anyone is welcome on the lawn.

This is who I’ve heard from other members so far. Correct me if this is wrong for your house:

Will house require wristband:
KKG - yes
XO - no
KD - yes
Phi Mu - yes
Phi Phi - yes

Not sure about the others

Tri Delt and ZTA will also require wristbands to enter the house. I heard it was everyone except XO because they are special snowflakes and refuse.

I’m in a house requiring a wristband and honestly we’re pissed. It changes the whole vibe of bid day. And you can’t bring girls who would potentially come here next year in the house. So dumb whoever’s idea this was and got everyone to go along with it

All houses allow friends and family on the lawn. Not a big deal.
