out of state

How hard is it to rush if you are from out of state and don't have a lot of connections?
#1by: Not Hard
Not hard but don’t expect a top house. Be open to everyone. Every sorority offers sisterhood, social functions, philanthropy, etc. A lot of the time the further you live from Arkansas the lower the house. While there are girls from everywhere in every sorority, they do tend to be from regions. For example, Kappa and Chi O are Arkansas girls and wealthy Dallas. Zeta and Tri Delta more Dallas Suburbs. ADPi, DG and AXO tend to be Houston, St Louis and Kansas City

I’m not the OP but I’m coming from really far away (not even the South). I have excellent grades and a few decent activities, plus volunteering and work experience. Looks are average-ish. Do I have any chance at anything above bottom tier? I don’t care about tiers much but I do care about having more than a few options
#3by: Sorry
I was OOS with a 4.0, 33 ACT, 300-400 volunteer hours and work experience and was cut from top houses for no connections. It is unlikely you will get a top house, but like “Not Hard” said, every house has the same kind of events, you will like your house and make friends

Don’t worry about tiers. Every house has high gpas, pretty girls, beautiful mansions and strong sisterhoods. This is the south and even a lower tier house here could be a top tier in the north.
