common misconceptions

by:

1. Tridelt is not on the same level as zeta, zeta is a top house and is much more desired
2. Only rich girls can get into top houses
3. You’re going to be looked down on if you’re not in a “top house”
4. You’re not as welcomed in parties if you aren’t in the top house

Please please just trust the system and I prOmise you will end up in the house you are supposed to be in

Another common misperception is that these pnms cannot form their own opinions!

A big misconeception is top houses have poor sisterhoods and lower houses have better sisterhoods. Top houses wouldn’t be top without strong sisterhoods.

by: Thank you

To the contrary, bottom houses often have sisterhood issues. It's hard to build unity and pride when the only thing you have in common is that you couldn't get it anywhere else. Plus bottom houses are often divided into cliques where the prettier more social girls set themselves apart from the awkward, unattractive girls.

Agree 1000%. The strongest sisterhoods will be found in the most successful chapters. Bottom chapters do struggle with an identity making it harder to establish a bond. Tired of bottom chapters saying otherwise.

Common Truths:
1. Zeta is a top house and is more desired than TriDelt.
2. Birds of a feather flock together. Rich girls go where their rich friends go which are top houses.
3. Top houses stick together so while you won’t be looked down on you just won’t have any top house friends if you are in a lower house.
4. Please ask Sigma Chi how many lower house girls they hang out with. Again, tiers stick together in both fraternities and sororities.

It is correct to trust the system and you will end up where you’re supposed to be.

Sounds like a pro to being in a top for the rest of the community is it keeps the campus a—- holes together and away from the rest of us. Please continue if the above is your frame of mind.

You are a ridiculous self important....
I pray you are still in high school trying to act like you know it all.
Problem is other high schoolers read this & believe it.
College is not high school, no one cares what house you’re in & those that do peaked in high school & want to keep riding it.
Peak in college. Grow up.

im in a lower mid house and couldn’t be happier but greek life here is basically high school. you have a connectedness that you are all greek just like you all went to the same school but nothing deeper. the cheerleaders still don’t hang out with the band kids. it’s not they dislike band kids but they think they have nothing in common. so all you on here preaching pan luv and unity got it wrong. there are still cliques just like high school only it’s tiers now and not the cheerleaders vs band kids. (for the record i was a band kid and have nothing against cheerleaders) you see it most your fresh and soph year but by the time you’re a junior your friend group is set anyway. so no hate on anyone just some honesty that your house does matter and whether you’re a cheerleader or a band geek you can find a great sisterhood but you most likely won’t be hanging with anyone outside your tier or maybe even your house.

common truth:
none of this actually matters when you graduate so pick a house you like and enjoy it cause you’ve got the rest of your life after these 4 years

It matters ALOT after graduation. Sorority membership is for life. Who do you think your bridesmaids will be? Who will you network with to get a job or promotion? Who will be your contacts to get into certain organizations? I’m a ChiO alum has a lot more pull in LR than saying you’re an AOPi or PhiMu.

To "Disagree". A lot of people (probably those in AOPI and PhiMu are from out of state and go back to their big cities and don't stay in po dunk Arkansas. Little Rock hahahaha. Hilarious.

Kappa and ChiO have very very strong alum bases that help with getting jobs and networking all over the country not just LR. Don’t think for a second that a Kappa would hire a non Kappa over a sister. Won’t happen.

You all know that Phi Mu, AOPI, DG etc are very big nationally and outside the state of Arkansas, where most people end of getting jobs, people are not going to care if you were a freaking CHiO or Kappa from Arkansas. ALL sororities have good alum base all around the country. Not just Arkansas Kappa and ChiO. Ya'll are so small town minded. There is a whole big world outside the country, small town state of Arkansas. Great if you want to stay in Arkansas for the rest of your lives, more power to ya! hahahahah

True that your friends will likely be members of your sorority after college, but I guess it depends on your career field and city you're applying whether it matters as much as you say when finding a job. If you're going the corporate route most resumes pass through algorithms, then through a recruiter. Sorority affiliation isn't a data point for either. Larger cities have many universities feeding into their job pool and have alumni chapters where you can meet members in your city from chapters around the country. All Arkansas sororities have these alumni chapters in major cities, which you can use to network to get you past the initial resume filtering process, get into certain organizations, etc. Little Rock has a population smaller than Plano, TX, so if you consider that, you can understand why sorority affiliation plays a much larger role in a much smaller job pool and social circle. In big cities, not as much.

OMG to disagree. Have fun in small town Little Rock the rest of your life Where it actually matters what High School you went to. This is the mentality that was evident on another post about Sigma Chi's hanging out with top houses. If you are looking for a small town farm hick have at at it. personally I have my sights set higher

What ever will I do if my bridesmaids aren’t from a top house! I might as well not get married and live on the streets because there can’t possibly be anyone else on the earth worthy of bridesmaid status besides a chi o

All of y’all are dumb. Once you graduate no one cares what freaking sorority you were in. Every sorority on our campus has an amazing alumni status and connections but honestly you probably won’t have to use them. That’s why when you’re in college you also need to focus on getting good grades, leadership roles, and internships. THAT is what will help you actually get the job- not what house you were a part of in college. Especially if you end up moving to Dallas/Nashville like most graduates do.

numbers tell the story

Kappa 102
ChiO 103
PiPhi 125
Zeta 135
TriDelt 137
KD 142
PhiMu 147
AOPi 149
ADPi 151
AChiO 153
DG 178

DG is new so of course they have to take the most. Tri Delta and Zeta are right there together with KD - looks like the same level

The top six house here have amazing alumni groups. Good luck:)
