you’re not a top and you won’t get either. you would know if you are. just accept it and move on and give other houses a chance

One girl or a small committee will be over an area where they are from. They go through each resume very closely. If they know you or you come highly recommended (boyfriend’s sister’s best friend from camp)and want you then they top you. If no one knows you but you look great on paper they will find someone who knows someone who can vouch for you and you might be topped. If you show up on day one and you’re not a top but have a great convo then it might come up how cute and interesting you were but they will defer back to their sisters who decided not to top you for whatever reason and you will still be cut. Why? Because there are more tops than spots and each top has an in house girl fighting for her which you won’t have. In the end the feeling is if you were so wonderful they would know about you through their thorough research before recruitment even starts. It’s a numbers game plain and simple so don’t let it worry you.
