by: ?Does it matter who writes my letters? Does the letter have more weight if it’s written by an Arkansas alum from a “top house”? How can I make sure that my letters were received?

If you can get an Arkansas alum you definitely should, but others are okay too. It’s best to send a thank you note to them a little while after you’ve asked them to write your letter so it will hopefully remind them if they haven’t done it yet, but otherwise there isn’t a way to know. I suggest getting more than one alum for every sorority just in case one doesn’t complete the letter!
