Above is great advice. It’s true first day most houses will match with someone from your hometown or interests so you will start with some common ground and not just be staring awkwardly. Also most houses have a process if your convo is struggling another active will come help out. Houses really do want you to succeed so they will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable.

They are not interviews. We are not grilling you. They are conversations. We are looking to find out what your personality is, not to see if you can tick off 'correct' answers. It's not what you say but the WAY you say it and if we can make a connection. I will want to drop you if you don't seem like we could be friends, and this will happen with me if you are too boring or too bored, too overbearing and intense, too full of yourself and uninterested in me and my sorority, or come across as thinking you are too good for me and my sisters.
