Really surprising drop off between Tri Delt and ADPi... congrats to all those with above a 3.5 (and everyone though)!! Great GPA’s this semester!

.06 is a huge drop off in your opinion? and it is surprising?

Good job to all the houses.

not much. You are acting silly.

And those houses who were more inclusive during membership selection- way to go! The margin is very narrow and your membership is rich with diversity. Worth the effort. And the sisterhoods are strong.

Seeing as the top SIX HOUSES are within .045 of each other yes... .06 is pretty large. Not trying to discredit at all but it takes soo many girls with high gpa’s just to raise the average of a house by .01 just because there are so many girls in each house.

Here are the differences in the houses.
1-2nd: .003
2-3rd: .019
3-4th: .006
4-5th: .008
5-6th: .003
6-7th: .054
7-8th: .038
8-9th: .013
9-10th: .025
10-11th: .073

Good job. It is just as difficult for a chapter who embraced more diversity as a typical top who made merciless cuts. Not a math major- by any means- am I off? I love how we will fight for the thousandth of a point- bring it.

This just shows you how competitive it is- Kappa delta won highest GPA last fall and look at all the sororities at 3.5- it tells you how competitive it really is here- congratulations pi phi, kappa, zeta, Kappa Delta, Chi O, and Tridelta

Some of the newer chapters do not have tutors coming into their houses to tutor groups yet. There is plenty of room for growth. So WOW to the newer chapters keeping the margins minuscule.

Do houses really have tutors that come in help? Who pays for that?

By: Really?
by: Lol

You do. With the 2-6 grand a year you pay to be in your sorority. (Or will if you’re a PNM)

How many houses have tutoring for their members? Shouldn’t be bragging about good grades if you are paying for tutors. Not much different than Varsity Blues. So are you saying the lower houses don’t have tutoring?

Well you are not paying for grades- you are paying for tutoring. It is available to any student on campus. It is who takes the time to study.
I believe some of the newer chapters have yet to thoroughly develop deeper study halls.

There are all kinds of tutoring opportunities available for any student that needs it. Its a thing. Not just a sorority thing. Get over it.

It really isn’t the same thing. To make digs/snide comments at the lower/newer houses and their study skills is really rude, inappropriate and not accurate. We are talking so minuscule of a difference in the average anyway. It’s not like any sorority had below a 3.3 average. Higher than most students. To seek out and to go to school sponsored tutoring sessions that are provided by your school fees is quite different than having someone come to your house and tutor you one on one. Anyone one that has attended school tutoring sessions, study test reviews, etc knows this. It is a more generalized overview of the subject. Every session / school tutoring I have attended has been a joke and waste of time. So get off your high horse that one house is more superior intellectually to other houses. The top grade house is different every semester so it really doesn’t mean much. It’s just a number’s game like everything else Greek life related.

No one is making digs. In fact- most were meant as compliments.
The SI sessions are different than Do College Better professional tutoring which I have sought out. I believe group rates are available thru this service.

WOW! Get off your high horse. Not saying tutoring is bad just don't act like "top" houses have superior girls intellectually - as you stated - they just pay to learn how to work the system.

To hire a tutor on your own is not what is what this discussion is about. It is about houses hiring and having tutors come weekly for their members.

If you must study for your grades- and additional support is needed to show you a different way to prepare- a different way to look at the textbook- and you utilize your resources to securing additional tutoring- group or individual- then good for the students who go the extra mile. Good for the students who keep the appointments and not blow it off.
Study groups or professional tutoring or seeking out a top student- gets results.

Don’t know what is wrong w you or why you are upset houses are organized and help their members by encouraging study groups and tutoring. Really- don’t understand your problem.
You are demonstrating a difference in your house— if everyone feels as you do— and houses above yours.

I seriously doubt you echo the sentiment from your chapter.

The fact that people are even upset about sorority’s hiring tutors is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. My sorority, along with basically every chapter on campus, uses Do College Better. Sorority life is about helping young women become the best version of themselves and that includes doing well in academics! It’s not like they hire them solely to get a top rank, they get tutors to help their girls! And I’m so thankful!! Some of the tutors I’ve used through my chapter were the reason I’ve made deans list/ Chancellors list every semester! This is helping to prepare these women for a successful future and should not be shamed on!!!

The reason top houses have higher GPA’s of girls isn’t JUST because they hire tutors (every house has a version of tutoring available to them even if it’s just through the school ) it’s also the fact that they make those tougher GPA cuts during rush. The cut does pay off for them.

By: Okayyy
by: saying it

Top houses DO make tough gpa cuts and once you get a bid there is an EXPECTATION for you to be successful. Quit hating on top houses just because their standards and expectations may be higher than some lower ranked houses. And that goes for everything - behavior, reputation, etc not just grades! Top houses would never bid a girl with an arrest record and charges against them like some bottom houses.

Don't know if "top" house cutting "grade risk" during rush or paying for extra tutoring is really working for them if the difference between the top grade house and bottom grade house for the semester is .242
