selectivity

by: uhhh

So I was reading on the other thread how sororities like aopi, phi mu, and dg don’t get to be selective with their pnms. If that’s the case then why do girls still get dropped by them even if they have a good rep, good grades, etc?

If you are getting dropped by these houses trust me there is definitely a reason

It’s usually girls who get cut from the houses they want and then think they are too good for the houses left so they drop recruitment but say they got dropped. Very rarely does a pnm get totally cut. It could be low grades under 2.9, really bad reputation, or acting so rude at the houses they have left they get cut.

Because ALL houses can be selective! Even the ones you mentioned. So don't think you are safe. I know some really sweet girls who had the best recs, resumes, etc. But struggled with conversation, then got dropped by ALL houses. It can happen. DO you homework on all the houses and practice your convo skills.

All houses make cuts.
They are required to during recruitment.
The houses you mentioned (or any others) can’t say hey we’ll take everyone.
Doesn’t work like that.

Is it possible to be cut by bottom houses but not top?
And aren’t you less likely to be cut from a bottom house because they can’t be as selective?

technically yes. If you are a triple in-house ChiO legacy with a 4.0 and drop dead gorgeous whose bff is Kappa president and you have an owl ankle tat then PhiMu and DG May cut you.

If a house knows you are going to cut them they will cut you first. Bottom houses do make cuts but they don’t want to cut a pnm who might accept their bid. that’s why it’s important to act excited and interested at all the houses. plus it’s just good manners!
