rec letters, what do i do

hey i’m oos and I don’t have any family that is or was involved in Greek life. I do have family friends that were but they are not Arkansas alums. Does it look better to have a rec from an Arkansas alum or someone who has known me for a long time? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I’m just trying to figure out what to do to make sure I have a decent chance in each house.

If the alum knows you well- get that rec. if you happen to know an Ark alum- also get that rec. better 1 from a non-ark alum vs none at all.

you can always ask both if you can! A lot of the sororities will like 2 rec letters if you can get them!

I was OOS and signed up for a regional alumna group to help me get recs/rifs. Their Instagram is gogreeknwa. Also know that even though you have a rec that doesn’t guarantee you a bid or invite back. Good luck!
