another legacy question
by: PnmHi! I have read a lot about legacies regarding the top three sororities. What about zeta? Tri delt? KD? If your a legacy ( non grade risk) do you have a good chance without any other connections? It seems legacies are only talked about with chi-o and kappa and I guess maybe pi phi?

You definitely won't get in Chi O, Kappa, or Pi Phi without being a legacy. You will need connections with girls in Zeta, Tri Delt, or KD to get in but legacy is less important there. If you're not a legacy and don't know anyone I would expect a big from Phi Mu, ADPi, AXO, AOii, or DG.

Thanks for the response! So if I am a legacy in one of the top/ mid tier ( zeta, Tri delt,) but don’t know any girls , I prob shouldn’t get my hopes up? I appreciate knowing what to expect to be honest!! It sounds like connections matter more than a legacy in these? Already scratched off the top three being from oos. I am glad this sight is here so I know to expect cuts from them!

You CAN get into any house without being a legacy. There are so many that go through that being a legacy isn’t looked at as much UNLESS your mom went here or you’re a triple legacy. I’m in one of the “top three” (which is silly because all sororities here are awesome) but I can say from my perspective that being a legacy is not something to count on to get you in, but it’s not something that will prevent you from getting in either. Give houses a reason to remember you that has nothing to do with you being a legacy or not! Good luck.

I would say Chi O is the hardest chapter to get a bid from unless you're a legacy, but there are always exceptions! I was a top at kappa without being a legacy and you can definitely get Pi Phi without being a legacy. It helps at all of the houses but honestly Chi O is the only house where I've heard it being such a big issue.
