grade risk legacy

Hi. I am a grade risk legacy ( not horrible but below 3.4) in one of the top five sororities. Will I be cut ? I don’t really know anyone in the chapter. Do some sororities put more weight on legacies than others?

Legacy especially matters to top five but it is irrelevant if you have a low GPA. They won't trust you to have a high GPA in college and know you'll pull their GPA down.

Depends on the sorority. Being a legacy definitely helps but doesn’t guarantee you a bid. You will most likely the first day get cut from Kappa, Chi o, Pi Phi, and Tri delt if you have below a 3.5. Getting a bid without any connections in houses and with a 3.3 or lower is hard because it is so competitive. Expect the unexpected and don’t get your hopes up!

It depends on what type of legacy. If you are a UARK legacy it can be a big deal. If you are a legacy from another school then it probably only means an invite back on day 2.
