is it actually that hard to get a bid to these houses if you don’t have connections with girls in them?

Honestly depends on your resume!! If you have a 3.8 GPA, are super sweet and are involved, you probably have a decent chance. These houses are both very resume heavy houses so if you aren’t involved and don’t have the grades, don’t expect to get in without some serious connections.

You’ll be fine as long has you are somewhat normal and have a good GPA (cut off is 3.4). They aren’t like hard houses and need all the normal girls they can get

Contrary to popular belief, these houses do a lotttt of cutting first round too. These houses are ones that you have to stand out in parties (conversations) and resumes, not just rely on your wealth or your legacy status, like the normal kappas, chi o's, etc.

Agree with this - I am a KD and we value a ton on how genuine a girl is and how well she can keep a conversation. Not to bash how any other houses rush though!

Yes we know Kappas recruit wealthy girls and ChiO recruits legacies. But those girls also have top gpa’s, tons of leadership activities, and are beautiful inside and out. As top houses Kappa and ChiO have their pick of who they want so why wouldn’t they go for the girl that has it all?
