rec letters

Curious about rec letters. Who reads them? Does it matter if you have one or five?? How much importance is placed on this part during recruitment? Is it just a box that is checked like if your GPA is above the 3.4 cut off or is it more like this girl has more rec letters than this girl so... or this recommendation is more glowing than this one etc...nervous because I don't have a lot of Greek connections.

Sometimes it is a box check. Sometimes it is oh xyz alum wrote this one and we need to pay closer attention to this girl. That is why people say to get an Arkansas alum if possible. Especially try to find one that is still plugged in to the chapter.

If you can’t get a rec letter for a sorority, will you automatically be cut?

the short answer: yes probably

long answer: it depends on the house. definitely automatically would be cut from houses like chi o kappa zeta pi phi DDD and KD. the other houses are debatable.

it’s not that hard to find rec letters. don’t let that be a reason for you to get cut. especially if it’s for a house you’re interested in

Im in a top house and if we want you bad enough we will get one for you but that is extremely rare.
