I’m am coming here next year and was going to rush but I decided against it... do people really care if you are not in a sorority and will I even have any friends if I do not rush?.. I have friends here who said guys think GDI girls are weird and will like ignore you after they find out you are not in a sorority? Is that true

honestly if you want to have the best experience here and want to be social and make friends you should definitely go through recruitment. even just recruitment week you will meet so many girls and make connections because everyone is feeling the same way and going through the same thing. to be honest, yes GDIs are looked at differently from girls and guys. you should definitely at least try

There's a pretty clear line between girls in sororities and GDIs. Many people might think you're weird if you're not in one but people will judge you based on your sorority anyway. Most of my friends are not in my chapter but we are all in greek life. You can always do COB if you decide that you want to be in it, but be aware that the only houses that do it are DG, AXO, ADPi, and Phi Mu. Also, haven't really noticed guys caring if you're in greek life or not but definitely depends on the guy and if he's in a frat.

Honestly I was a GDI and had tons of friends.... but they were all guys. It's very hard to make girl friends if yoy don't rush just because they find their group within their sorority.. Guys don't seem to mind as much, but at such a large greek school you will most likely feel left out. You can always try it and if you don't like it, drop! Join a club you're passionate about!
