knowing girls??
by: ??Just found this site. Kind of wish I hadn’t. If are a girl going through rush with with pretty decent grades ( above 3.5) , rec letters, cute, outgoing, basically it won’t matter because chi o , pi phi, zeta and kappa will cut you first night if you don’t know anyone in those sororities?

That’s right. Don’t feel bad or take it personally, it happens to 1200+ girls. TBH it is really a blessing. The “top” houses are really just like high school revisited. Same clique, same friends, very few new sprinkled in, not a lot of socializing outside the group. With the mid to lower houses you really get an opportunity to come into your own. Don’t let not getting into a top stop you from going Greek. You will have fun, meet boys, go to games, socials and make lifelong friends whatever sorority you are lucky enough to be asked to join.

I went in and had zero connections. I was cut by the top houses but ended up in a nice middle tier house. I found all of my best friends there and had opportunities to serve in different leadership roles. It was so much less catty because we didn’t all go to high school together! I honestly feel like I fit in perfectly and have had an amazing sorority experience. Don’t let this site get you down. Just go in with an open mind and you will find the perfect place for you!

Yes!! It is so much better to know than to be blindsided. You just have to remember that it is a numbers game and no matter where you end up you will find your people!

thank you! i do feel better. just went to a sorority meeting today with 400 plus girls/moms. they actually kept referring back to uark ( there were girls in our meeting going to all different colleges) and how difficult recruitment can be simply because of the sheer number of girls. they did mention don’t be shocked if your cut by four to six the first night. i guess it’s better knowing the situation then being blindsided and shocked the day you get your schedule .
