legacy or no legacy

I am a legacy but my mom went to a different university. Should I list my legacy? I have heard that houses cut legacies from other houses the first day.

yes. if a house finds out you're legacy and didn't list it, it will only backfire on you. houses talk and if you leave stuff out it will only make u look bad.

I would not listen to @greekgirl. Tell your legacy house with whatever form your mom needs to send in but leave it blank on the general form that all houses see. There are waaay too many legacies at every house for houses to compare that and it will not make you look bad if you keep it between you and your legacy house. On the remote chance anyone in another house calls you on it just honestly level with them and tell them yes you are a legacy to XYZ but that you are keeping an open mind.
