why kappa, pi phi?
by: AskingNot hating at all, but why are kappa and pi phi automatically considered top houses? Like genuinely what’s the reason? Chi o is understandable bc they were founded at Arkansas but what separates pi phi and kappa from say zeta Tri Delt and kd, great houses that are always deemed as mid.

I think it's mostly because Kappa is very involved across the board on campus (always on ASG) and they have been set as a top house for so long. Pi Phi just has cool, well-rounded girls. When I went through I had Pi Phi and Zeta tied but that's just because I'm from Dallas. I think pi phi pulls better from Arkansas than Zeta or Tri Delt. Tri delt struggles because they haven't gotten the best pledge classes lately.

Kappa has tons on Texas girls plus Memphis and Nashville. With Kappa it’s more about money, looks, and IN HOUSE connections. They do have lots of LR but that’s in all houses because hey this is UARK. ChiO has more LR girls but that’s because they are so legacy heavy. Also think ChiO has more Missouri girls than Kappa but that’s because Kappa goes after rich Texas girls like no one’s businesss.

I actually don’t agree with this. I feel like many girls choose top houses because they are top houses not because of their sisterhood, causing their sisterhood to be weaker.

This is true for any house. I have a friend who went her mom’s legacy house to make her happy but now she’s miserable. Ironically most of her friends are in the higher ranked house she loved.

So are you saying the only coveted girls are from LR and surrounding areas? That is so dumb. If the girl is awesome why does it matter where she is from? I get that it's prob a hometown/state thing but with Arkansas pulling over 45% out of state now "top" houses will have to start considering ALL girls or they will quickly begin to lose their "top" tier status. Personally, unless you want a repeat of high school, I'd look at the "mid tier" houses. Not all the drama and hs non sense.
