probation

Tri Delt and Chi O are on probation. Also Sig Ep is on probation. Tri Delt is on probation for hazing. I know this because my roommate was a Tri Delt. One of their new members complained to greek life and quit the sorority and the whole chapter got in trouble. Chi O is on probation for not preforming initiation the way nationals wanted them to. I know this because one of my best friends is a Chi O. Sig Ep is on probation because one of their pledges drank too much on bid day and had to go to the hospital. As far as GPA goes most chapters will pretty much only take girls above a 3.0. I have no idea what fraternities want. My best advice I can give you is don't worry about it yet. Don't try to figure out what chapters you want to/don't want to be a part of yet. Every chapter is good. They're just all different which means what is the best house for one girl may not be the best house for the next girl. Good luck in recruitment!

Tri Delt is not on probation anymore

Tri Delt was taken off probation at the end of the Spring 2013 semester. Chi O will be on probation for the Fall 2013 semester but can still raise money for their philanthropy, meaning that they will not participate in social events. I heard Sig Ep can't rush this fall, but that could be untrue.

LADIES! Do not listen to above! Grades don't matter if you're rushing a fraternity! For sororities, you can be the most amazing, beautiful, involved girl, but you will be cut before you even walk into most houses if you have less than a 3.0! If you're a PNM with less than a 3.0, I would recommend waiting until your sophomore year to rush!

Well I honestly had the toughest time my senior year because of family and multiple reasons and I fall under the 3.15 category... That's why I'm worrying so much...because I want to get into a good one but I was pretty involved in high school and my school was literally a college prep school haha so on level classes were more like honor classes at most schools. Will I still be okay?

My sorority definitely looks at GPA. It's one of the top 3 factors that help us decide on who gets a bid. For fraternities it depends on each frat. I have a friend in pike with a really bad GPA that got in but I have friends who didn't get bids from Beta or Lambda because of their grades.
