You need to find recommendations if you absolutely know no one in the chapter going in. All chapters have different protocols for their recruitment and you could be cut at any moment from anyone. Shoot for recs from alum from all groups. Be prepared on that end and have an outstanding resume! Hope this helps.

So what about someone who is way OOS with a 3.4 , cheerleader and a ton of service hours? My mom is a legacy to one of the top 4 and is very active as an alumnae and is a collegiate advisor. I will have at least 1-2 rec's per sorority. I will admit this site has me stressed about getting in this coming fall.
