final numbers
by: Fact checker
Here are the final number of girls each house took during recruitment this year. Seem like variable quota just makes the top houses more exclusive. The numbers seem to fall in line with house rank.
ChiO 102
Kappa 103
PiPhi 125
Zeta 135
TriDelt 139
KD 142
ADPi 142
AOPi 144
PhiMu 144
AChiO 153
DG 178
#2by: VQ doesn’t work
A pledge class with only 102-103 girls is going to have a lot easier time bonding and probably be more alike than a pledge class with 178 girls who probably have nothing more in common than everyone was assured a bid at the end of the week. Sorry but there must be a reason why here and Ole Miss are the only two schools still doing VQ.
#6by: dropping
That is one reason why Chi O is dropping. UARK isn't a small Ozark school any longer. Lots of high quality(money, grades and looks) out of state girls. They are missing out on some great girls. I know some chapters have different rules on what Legacy means. Grandmother if alive, mother, sister if alum status. That should be it!! This is all up to Nationals. I think as chapters who have 1300 PNM we should be able to narrow what legacy means.
#9by: Hateful
Look at how much hate is thrown towards the 3 newest houses on the campus. It takes a lot of hard work to get a chapter started. Statements like I would rather be nothing then a DG. It truely is hateful. The mid tier houses treat the new houses like crap. They are so scared of them coming in and moving them down the list that they lose sight that UARK has 1300 girls rushing and all the sorities could have top PNM's.

Most schools take the number of sororities and the number of girls attending pref and divide them evenly on bid day. So 10 chapters and 1000 pnms means each pledge class has 100 girls. Variable quota is based on return and retention rates for each sororities. So sororities that have higher return rates will take less girls than a less popular chapter that has trouble with girls dropping or not placing them high on the bid list. So if ChiO has 102 and DG has 178 supposedly 76 girls will drop DG or never show up for bid day which would then make all the sororities more even. Panhellenic controls this 100% and does not share their data with the sororities other than to tell them the number of girls they have to cut each day and the number they can extend a bid to. So when ChiO and Kappa had to cut 1200+ girls the first day that was all on Panhellenic. In comparison DG didn’t have to cut any girls the first day because so many pnms ranked them last.
