agd or cob
by: hopefulI dropped recruitment mid week after houses I was most interested in cut me. I now regret this as I see I wouldn’t have fit in anyway. Now I wish I was in any sorority. Should I try for COB in the spring or wait and go through again in the fall and maybe give AGD a try? Are any houses doing COB now or is it only in the spring? Panhellenic has not been very helpful other than to register.

I think the best way to answer this is what do you want out of the experience? Joining a chapter through COB will put you in an already established chapter that will be more organized. There will be less opportunities for leadership experience. There may be more opportunity to participate in organized events with pan because the chapters do it every year. Next year you’ll have a physical house no matter what chapter you COB (if that’s important to you).
Joining AGD puts you in a chapter that is not established but you get to be a colonizing member (which is pretty cool). They will be less organized and will already be looked at as a bottom chapter but everyone in the chapter will be in a similar position as you are (either didn’t rush or dropped). There will be opportunities to be in leadership positions because again everyone is in the same position you are. Pan was so welcoming at DGs bid day so you will get that opportunity.
