new houses
by: just sayin'Does anyone besides me think that both the Phi Mu and AXO houses are small? Like I saw AXO instagram posts with their house and you could tell they zoomed in, or used the panoramic filter to make the house appear bigger. Also, both houses combined seem to be the size of ONE of the other houses. They seemed to hurry to just get a house. Which is fine if thats what they want. But with these renos their small houses will continually put them on bottom.

AChiO and PhiMu needed houses to be competitive. They had been on campus too many years without one. AChiO built what they could afford and I applaud them for that. Looks like PhiMu tried to build something that didn’t fit their lot and they couldn’t afford and then ended up putting all their money in the front appearance with not much thought for anywhere else which is why the back is basically plywood. PhiMu thought everyone would ooh and ah over their “mansion” but it has backfired and they are now the laughingstock of Greek life with their gaudy, phony mansion desperately trying to fit in with the more classic and appealing houses.

TriDelts house drama def hurt them. I know girls who preffed KD or ADPi over them. AChio and PhiMu May have kept some girls on bid day who otherwise would have dropped recruitment without a house but overall saw no difference in their pledge class from last year.

I agree. I don't necessarily think this hurt them this rush, as much as it will hurt them once all of these bigger reno houses are completed. Sad that they had to share a lot. I agree with OP that the houses appear small and It looks crowded.

this is false. They are two separate lots. Both did take away parking from the staff parking lot behind their houses (the houses were built on the staff part of the lot and the remainder of the lot was student) Phi Mu's fenced off their lot/put the sign up Spring of 2015, well before AXO announced that they were building. There was an entrance to the lot from maple street as well as study abroad house/office, which was all torn down and became AXO's lot.
So no, they did not take one lot and split it between two houses. Phi Mu's house just has a massive front facade with the walk out basement that was built fairly close to the street, which gives the appearance of the lot being small.

EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL with Greek life has sororities considered top middle and bottom. Alabama has tiers. Tiny schools in the north that aren’t competitive still have tiers. It’s mainly based on tradition and reputation. Therefore newer chapters are considered lower/less desirable than top tiers. I get that there are quality girls in all chapters, recruitment is competitive, blah blah blah. But don’t come on here acting like someone shot your dog when you say Kappa is higher tier/more desirable than AChiO. If you disagree that’s like saying some junior college team is as good as Alabama because all the boys want to play football. Not everyone gets a national championship but you can still have a good time playing football.

What does money have to with what sorority someone is in? If you value people based on income, you are so shallow...and in for a rude awakening in life. Money is what someone has, not what they are!! GROW UP!!!

Have to agree with lol. These girls making these post about houses think of these houses as their own. There own family home is something they are embarrassed of so they become obsessed at comparing their sorority house to other ones. These homes are the nicest place they will ever live.

OP was making a general stereotype about kappas having money. Don’t worry we know we know girls in other houses have money too. Kappas were just named since they are known as having the most money. Your inferiority complex is showing. The whole point was most girls don’t live in a house as nice as their sorority house but some girls do.

Amazing that you have so much knowledge of well over 200 girls that pledged these houses. You must have an amazing memory, investigative prowess, or just a super judgmental assuming-you-know-all personality. Sad that this is your "perspective".
