hey i have got cut from all houses but DG. I am a sophomore, is that why? i am very friendly and nice and outgoing. i do know some top sororities have people i went to school that hate me is that why i got cut? i have seen the way other girls in other houses look down on DG girls and i have noticed how not many frat guys or guys in general will talk to them. Should i be worried about any of this?

Dg is a solid house and rising. I haven’t heard anything bad about them

The only time ranks are a thing is during recruitment. Every house is a top house, especially if it is YOUR house. The girls obviously see something special in you so give them a chance. DG is a newer sorority to UARK so people know less about them. Good Luck! Just getting a bid is an accomplishment here!

Well yeah, maybe it some girls in a house hated you that’s why you got cut. Come on. And please don’t drop- the chances of getting a bid to a “top house” is very unlikely as a sophomore anyways, and it decreases your chance even more when people hate you in the house. Delta Gamma is only thought of that way because this is their third year on campus, but they have made a huge amount of progress in that short time. If your reason for being in a sorority is because you want to be in the best one and talk to a lot of frat guys then your reasoning is stupid and you shouldn’t be part of greek life.

that’s not what i said. i want to be in a sorority for the sisterhood and to be able to have fun on campus and meet new people rather it be guys or girls. i want to make life long friends that will be there with me till i die. thanks for the negativity though.

To answer your question, no don’t worry about gossip.
DG is new & building a great chapter here.
It’s not over yet, but so far they are interested in you so that’s great!
Good luck!

It’s honestly ridiculous that you have such a concern on people looking down on you for the chapter you are part of or frat boys not talkning to you. Many of the women in Delta Gamma are not the “rejects” they get labeled as. Mojority of the girls that started Delta Gamma did not go through formal recruitment or were transfers.

If you truly wanted the sisterhood you would find it wherever you ended up and not be so close minded.

i’m not close minded. wish y’all would just ask questions not be so rude. and maybe find out why people think like this. i was really bullied in high school. i went to a college far away where not many people from my high school went so i could start over and have a fresh new start at life with friends and stuff. so if i want to make sure the same stuff isn’t going to happen because i pick what i hear is the bottom and lowest house you can get in then i deserve to ask questions and get the answer. thanks

These should be the questions you are asking. You should be asking if you will still get the opportunities the girls in other houses do, if you will still experience sisterhood, if you will see be involved in the big Greek events, if you will still have friends. The answer to all of those is yes if that’s what you want and if that’s what you try for. Greek life is all about what you put in it. You get out what you put in no matter what house you are in. In the long run when you put that you were a member or in a leadership position for “XYZ” the person looking won’t wonder if that was a bottom house because they won’t care.

okay so you were bullied in high school so you went to a school far away where no one knew you so you could start over. Then how do girls in "top" chapters hate you? No one here knows you so unless you did something to make them hate you or these girls are just vicious bullies, in which case why would you want to be in that house anyway?

Do you want to be in a house where there are girls you already know dont like you? I have been told most houses dont take upper classmen, DG is new maybe the reason you don't hear too much about them is that they want to be drama free?

They are the newest chapter on campus - they are getting a new house next fall - if you want to be involved in Greek like this could be your chance - - give them a chance. They obviously see something special in you.

if you are looking for a great sisterhood you will be able to find that in DG. I know girls who had a hard time at first with the fact that they got DG b/c of all the "talk" during recruitment and now cannot imagine themselves anywhere else and are passionate about it. For a sorority that reestablished just two years ago, they have their act together. Recruitment is a very tough week and can be really disappointing which can cause you to get in your feelings and that is understandable. If you want to be greek then go into your DG party with an open mind and let them know you want them and that you love it because no house takes everyone.

And they are already building a house. Thats pretty fast. I think things are going really well for them. And they are very strong nationally

OP I hope you are finding these reply’s helpful, but you shouldn’t be talked into a house.
I would hate it if a girl who loves any house not get a bid because a bid was given to someone who’s on the fence, not excited etc
I hope you can get over your disappointment and embrace a chapter that so far is interested in you!

Please chill. No one makes fun of delta gamma. Guys talk to delta gammas. Other sororities do not look down on delta gamma at all. This website is the only place where you will hear anything negative about anyone. Either accept your welcome into sisterhood or remain an unaffiliated girl while all of your could-have-been best friends celebrate and bond without you.

There are going to be girls tomorrow morning that get a call from a Panhellenic person telling them that they have been dropped from the process and no need for them to show up for Bid Day. This happens every year and those girls are going to be devastated, while other girls are going to quit there newly found chapter the first day because they don't want their bid to the house they got. At the end of the day ask are you comfortable with the DG girls you have talked too. Are they genuine and real? Are they going to end up being your family away from home? Based on how Pref works only 50% of those girls will end up in that house on Bid Day.
