What exactly is a "connection"? My niece is currently in recruitment and really liked and seemed to be pursued by one of the top houses. (The chapter president specifically came over and said hi first round!) She is OOS and had recommendations turned in, but doesn't really know anyone personally in the chapter.

it could mean:
1. The president had been looking forward to meeting her all summer since her packet came in and couldnt wait to get over to her.
2. The active assigned to talk to her thought she was weird or the conversation awkward so she did the secret hand or leg signal to summon help from an exec board member.
3. Exec board and recruitment members aren’t assigned to a girl so they just float around and smile and jump in whenever they want and are so deliriously tired by recruitment week they are all hyped up on coffee and caffeine and act super excited to anyone they meet.

The president talked to her so of course she did! The President goes around talks to THE girls and makes sure the other peasants in the room know that they are not worthy. Empower Women! Stronger Together! Like I mean totally empower our group but not like those other people! Like omg why do they make us even have them here for one day. Like so not necessary!
BTdub I’m going to the beach next summer to walk the beach for the Lord, who wants to join me? We will share Jesus with everyone. I’ve got to get back to recruitment one of the peasants is sitting in the wrong group! OH MY GAWD!

Talking to the president could mean everything or nothing. Depends on the house. Just know there are no coincidences in Kappa. They have recruitment down to a fine art.
