how many girls each house lost

by:

While looking at Alabama's greek rank with my best friend, who is attending there this fall, we stumbled upon a post that had a list of all sororities and how many members dropped from each house last year. I think this is great idea because it gives pnm's a heads up on any potential problems within a house. Does anyone know how many girls dropped from each house at UArk last year?

Each pledge class starts out with approximately 110 to 130. Majority of houses as in all but maybe one are lucky to have 40 active seniors but usually less than that. By active I mean paying
dues. Seniors and Juniors actually involved around40 total.

This is not true for all houses. The numbers do go down because some girls transfer if they don’t get in certain programs, especially nursing, study abroad, or get too busy with classes. Varies each year though.

Some houses at Bama lost 13, while others 78. Is this normal at Uark too? What houses tend to lose the most active members due to issues in the house? I'm not talking about graduating early or financial issues.

By junior year, you have about 40% of your pledge class ieft. Out of that 40% percent half pay their dues and show up for meetings and that’s basically it. The other half are still actively involved to some degree.

By senior year, you have maybe 25% of your pledge class left. Out of that 25% a little more than half pay their dues and attend meeting once a month and that’s basically it. The other half are actively involved, some more than others.

Half of the girls involved in Greek Life do not leave the U of A without a degree and or transfer to another school. They stay at the U of A and graduate! You probably have 10% leave before four years to start another program or attend another university.
Girls also leave Greek life because they just do not want to do it anymore, financial hardships or just not wanting to invest $2000- $4000 a year when they aren’t that active or they just quit school all together and go home. Everyone that leaves Greek Life isn’t leaving because of a transfer or to attend nursing school etc. Why tell people that? Sometimes people do not like things for a variety of reasons and Greek life is no exception.

A better way would be how many drop from freshmen to sophomore year. Then it’s more on the house than the girl.

Not on the house at all. Just wasn’t worth the money. Strictly my opinion! You buy a t-shirt for an event that you may or may not attend for an hour. Go to weekly meeting where you might know 4 other people that you didn’t know from before. Just was not my kind of thing.

Girls drop for many reasons. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with a house or that it has issues. Financial hardships, classes get harder so less time for social life, become involved in other organizations, drop out of school, transfer etc. Why do you automatically assume that it's a problem with the house b/c members drop? Probably best to get off greek rank and stop assuming things.

For the love of Pete stop posting this same discussion material all over greekrank trying to stir-up isht. The fact is EVERY fraternity and sorority home will lose members beyond simple graduates; it's NOT a 'thing for lower houses only'. How is your low focus upon drop rates anything beyond failing to accentuate the multiple positives of American greek life?
