I don't have any best friends in sororities. i know OF girls and have had a few conversations with girls in kappa, chi o, tri delt, and phi mu. my gpa, however, is a 3.3. i took over 14 AP classes during high school, was super active in extra curriculars, studied abroad, etc. i'm so concerned that my gpa will affect my rush. i am pretty social and i guess i'm pretty? like i'm genuinely so concerned i will be cut because of my low gpa and lack of genuine connections. rec wise, i could only find some for kappa, aopi, pi phi, and chi o. can someone be up front with me of my chances of getting into high, mid, and lower tier houses? It would definitely help with me coming to terms with what will most likely be my future.

Your gpa will get you cut from ChiO and Kappa. It doesn’t matter what type of classes or hs you went to. PIPhi may or may not cut you for grades but without any connections it doesn’t look promising. Your lack of recs will hurt you the most. Are you sure you can’t find any last minute? For most houses it’s a box they check and if you don’t have one that is the easiest cut after grades. AOPi would be an option because you have a rec there. ZTA and TriDelt will cut you for sure with no rec. Not sure about KD. After AOPi your best chance would be with a lower tier house like DG or AChiO but they could cut for no recs too. Any AChiO or DG wanna answer that?

Chapters are required by nationals to have a rec for pnms who are offered a bid. If a house really really really wanted you they could secure a rec for you. Actives are tired and exhausted just like pnms at the end of each recruitment day. They can’t leave their house until voting has been done and set up is finished for the next day which can be 1 or 2am every night. With 1700 pnms to choose from do you think they really are going to try to track down a rec for you that you should have taken the time to get yourself?

Get off this site and don't get back on and start looking forward to recruitment and your first year of college. You'll find your home.

There are always a ton of pnms with a gpa lower than yours that get bids! Do not drop out before you even start just because you are afraid. Not all chapters require a rec to offer a bid. The best thing to do is focus on having quality conversations and make the most of your time during the parties- that’s my advice for every single pnm!
