legacy status
by: PmnWill listing a legacy for a certain sorority hurt my chances for being in others?
#1by: Depends
Do you have an in house sister? Is your mom an active alum in your hometown? Has your mom told all of her friends in other sororities that you are for sure going to pledge her house? If so then yes. Houses have to look for easy ways to make cuts, and after grades this is often it.
If your sister or mom was an active member in college and then never mentioned it again it probably won’t matter.

I’d recommend sending in your legacy rec form to your legacy house but leaving it off the Panhellenic reg form. If you did list it, it’s not a great big deal, but theoretically if you “look” XYZ and they’re hard to compete with, ZXY might decide not to waste a slot on you when they’re making big cuts.
