do NOT set anything to private. if we don’t know you social media is the only way to rank you. if we don’t like what we see or can’t see anything about you then you get cut. clean it up like yesterday!

Gosh, I hope you evaluate PNMs on more than social media. PNMs are told to go into Rush open-minded so hope houses do the same when meetings girls. Totally understand not wanting to see sketchy things on social media (mine is super clean) but not everyone is insta-famous or wants to be.

It’s not about insta-famous which not all houses see as a positive. Its more that you can’t get to know a girl in 10 minutes so if you think you are being judged the first day just from your convo skills you are mistaken. Your grades, rep, resume, recs, and social media will factor into those first day cuts more than how your convo went with the active you are not so anonymously paired with.

So who really makes the decision to cut a pnm? Is it the recruitment committee or is it actives from my hometown? Do alums give a list on who they want? Is this what goes on the week before recruitment starts? From all these posts it doesn’t sound like everyone in the house gets to vote on a pnm after recruitment each day which is how it should be. Houses should own up to this so pnms aren’t upset thinking it was their conversation skills that got them cut but really some mysterious formula they have no clue about.

Every house does their membership selection differently. It is not for PNM's to say "how it should be." The houses do the choosing. Worrying about something you can't do anything about is not helpful to PNM's. Worry about what you can do something about - bringing your A game and aiming to impress.

As a national officer of a sorority (not at UARK), please know that all national offices provide a scoring & ranking system to their chapters to use during recruitment. Your GPA & resume/application will be what is used the first couple days as determining factors in who to invite back to the parties. There are just too many PNM's and too little time to do it otherwise. Put your best foot forward, trust in the dual selection process & you will find the right place!
