I know this may sound dumb, but do you have to have a bunch of followers to be a kappa? all the ones i follow have so many followers and get so many likes, i feel like they are all “insta famous” and take all these nice pics in cool places and vacations. does that matter at all?

No, not at all. When you pledge a sorority you tend to get a lot of followers so it appears that way. As long as you portray yourself well on social media you will be fine :)

to be honest yes it does kind of matter, but to an extent. we look at your social media if you're on our radar definitely. you don't have to be "insta famous" but how your instagram looks could definitely have an affect on your rush. sad but true. if that's not for you then rethink your mindset and join based on where you fit in and join a sorority where you don't feel judged on stupid stuff like that. don't try to be something you're not. we can always tell
