Membership selection is private so you will never know if your gpa was why you weren't asked back. TBH if you make it past the first day we don't look at your gpa after that. First day is grade and rep risks or if your resume wasn't strong enough. We know you are nervous so unless you come in covered in tattoos and talk about getting drunk the night before we won't cut you based on a bad convo. On the the flip side a pnm who wasn't on our list might have a great convo first day and she will get an invite back. Starting on day 2 is when your convos are so important. On day 1 we also try to pair you with someone you know or their friends or someone from your hometown. We want you to succeed and enjoy visiting our house!

Come on and admit it... Girls with low GPAs are allowed to rush because the University, and probably Panhellenic, wants to look as welcoming and "inclusive" as possible. God forbid that anyone has standards anymore. We aren't allowed to admit that we demand high scholarship of our members. Everybody gets a trophy or membership, if they stomp their little foot and throw their hair ribbons on the floor.
Yes, I am a crabby old alumna who knows what we are being pressured to do.

The girl talking to you during rush could be on probation for grades! There is a CERTAIN house that always lets girls participate in rush who are not suppose to be participating because of their grades. For some and their alum (still trying to live the dream) it's all about looks and physical appearance. They could have a 1.0 and not be active at all . But as long as they look like a cheerleader (cheer is everything it is oh so important lol) or a barbie doll or a beauty queen they will be active in every party! After bid day you will never see them again until rush the next year.

Why extend an invitation to a pnm to attend any party that doesn't make the grade requirements? That is so dishonest and unfair. Why not set a GPA requirement so pnms are clear about what is required from the beginning?
