trying to be nice
by: PnmI have a friend in a so called bottom house. All she talks about is how she can't wait for me to be her sister. I've met some of the girls and just can't see me hanging around them. I'm nice to them but it's because I think I'm a nice person but don't want them to think it means I want to be in their sorority. If I rank them last and they rank me first does that mean I go back to their house? Will she know I ranked them last? I don't want to seem a snob but I don't want her to mess up my chances for a top house.

You will only not go back to your friend’s chapter if every house you wanted invites you back. If you rank your friend’s chapter last, and every house you did want back asked you back, then you wouldn’t go back to your friend’s chapter. It’s highly unlikely that you will be invited back by every chapter you want.
Any way, you should enter recruitment without any preconceived notions about any chapter. You may be surprised by the members you talk to from your friend’s chapter and end up liking them more than you would have thought!
